Fed up with todays education system

I am starting this petition because I am tired of seeing and hearing about what is going on in the public schools. This is a problem that will only worsen if we do not offer students other alternatives to receive a positive and enjoyable learning experience. Honestly how many High schooler's do you know that will tell you they had a great day in school? Not many! And I think that is sad but a very harsh reality. Recently I began researching alternatives for my son who is currently a ninth grade student at Hicksville High School, who is struggling with Teachers and their personalities , Rules that sometimes make no sense to a mature minded teen, anticipating regents, peer pressure,student cliques, drugs, gang activity etc.... To my dismay I was unable to find an affordable alternative to help my son. I came across a cyber school program in Pennsylvania, which was to good to be true! the web site is PACYBER.org

There are different learning needs for all students and public schools are unable to meet these needs to each and every student. Why is that our only choice is Private schools ( too expensive for some) or shut up and deal with it! there is homeschooling which also is costly. We as taxpayers deserve to have more options and ensure our children a rewarding and quite possibly Enjoyable educational experience. The future is here now, Cyber schools are the wave of the future. Public schools have been using the same regiment since they were started, back in the 40's or 1800's? Come on this is 2010 and not much has changed besides the mind of the students and their clothes???? We must demand the Board of Education to take a good look at the students needs in today's world and see all that is lacking for today's youth.
